     Bank of Handan Co., Ltd. is a regional joint-stock commercial bank with investment mainly from Handan Municipal Government. Among the five years since its inception, under the leadership of the Handan Municipal Committee and Handan Municipal Government, in support of the regulatory department, and with assistance and reliance of all the directors, supervisors and shareholders, Bank of Handan had made concerted efforts to fulfill five breakthroughs as milestones in its development history:“Inception-Rename-Regionaliztion-Collectivization-Scalization”. Authorized in October, 2007, Handan Commercial Bank formerly known as the Handan City Credit Union had been formally opened on July 10, 2008; the bank was renamed as “ Bank of Handan” on November 26, 2010; the bank achieved the goal of regional development when Shijiazhuang Branch was officially opened for business on December 28, 2010; the bank also established several subsidiaries –Wuan Village Bank started business on October 25, 2012 and the number of sub-branches of the entire bank had reached 48 at the end of 2012, which indicated the collective development of our bank; Bank of Handan had entered the World’s Top 1000 Banks in 2011 and the total assets and deposits ranked first amongst 10 city commercial banks in Hebei province at the end of 2012, which basically fulfilled the aim of scalization.

    At the end of 2012, the total assets amounted to RMB 50.8 billion, ranking first amongst 10 city commercial banks in Hebei province and among all the commercial banks in Handan city; total deposits amounted to RMB 35.2 billion, ranking first amongst all the city commercial banks in Hebei province; the total loans was RMB 15.01 billion, up by 32.4%, including loans to micro and small enterprises amounting to RMB 5.56 billion, increased by 44.2% and loans to agriculture amounting to RMB 7.71 billion, up by 81.4%; the non-performing loan ratio stood at 0.29%, lower than 1% for four consecutive years; the tax amount was RMB 293.94 million, up by 23%, maintaining the most tax paying bank in Handan. After 2008, the bank won the titles of Province and National Civilized Unit, City and Province “Wuyi Medal”; and won the award of “Financial Contribution” and “Financial Innovation” by Hebei Province Government for four times; in the ranking of Commercial Banks Competiveness Assessments by the Chinese magazine The Banker, Bank of Handan ranked No.7 in the ranking of Small-Sized City Commercial Banks in 2010, No.5 in the ranking of Medium-Sized City Commercial Banks and promoted from No. 17 to No. 12 in the total ranking of National 144 City Commercial Banks in 2011; it also ranked No.956 in 2012 World Top 1000 Banks by the English magazine The Banker; in the assessment of “ Chinese Financial Institution Gold Medalist” by Chinese Academy of Social Sciences and Financial Times, the bank was nominated “ Annual Most Growing Potential Medium and Small Bank”; it undertook the project of “ Green Data Research and Application Center” which won the “2011-2012 Financial Industry IT Risk Management Research Honorable Medal” by CBRC and amongst banks that assets below RMB 100 billion, it was the only bank to won the award; in the performance assessment of financial institutions in over 170 banks in Hebei province, the evaluation results of Bank of Handan was AAA for 2009 and next years; it was honored as “ Advanced Unit to Support Regional Economic Development” for consecutive years and ranked No.1 of financial institutions in 2012 Handan Residents Democratic Appraisal and in the assessment of financial institutions of Handan Iron and Steel Enterprises Development Environment; the president of Bank of Handan was awarded as Expert Enjoying Special Government Allowances by the State Council in 2013, who was the only nominee of Hebei financial industry in the year and one of the two in national city commercial banks.
